3 UK returnees test positive for new COVID strain in Rajasthan

Amid growing concerns over the spread of the new COVID train, at least three persons who returned from the United Kingdom (UK) have been found to be infected in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district.

Sri Ganganagar: Three persons, who returned from the United Kingdom (UK) to Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar recently, have been found to be infected with the mutated strain of coronavirus.

As per the information, they had returned from the UK on December 18.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Baldev Singh Chauhan, Prime Medical Officer of District Hospital, said that their sample was sent for the testing.

Their report came on Monday which stated that they have been tested positive of the new COVID strain, he added.

Notably, a total of 23 people had returned to Rajasthan from the UK on December 18. Out of them, 12 belonged to Sri Ganganagar district.
