Jodhpur: At least 13 people were killed and a dozen others injured in a road accident near the Dhadhaniya police station area in Balesar Tehsil in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, where a minibus travelling on the National Highway (NH) 125 collided with a Bolero car.
According to the information received, a fierce collision occurred between the two around 1:00 pm near Dhandhania village when a bus was coming towards Jaisalmer via Jodhpur and a family in car was going from Agolai towards Jaisalmer to join the condolence meeting.
The injured were rushed to the Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur.
The police reached the spot promptly. Initial probes suggested that among the dead are nine men, six women and a child, the police said.
Since the notice of the accident, Additional Superintendent of Police, Raghunath Garg, ADM City, Seema Kavia and senior officers of Jodhpur police are present on the spot.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also expressed condolences regarding the incident.
Jodhpur Range IG Sachin Mittal, District Collector Prakash Rajpurohit, Rural SP Rahul Barath reached and inquired the case.
The cause of the collision of the vehicles has not been ascertained. The police have reached the spot and have begun the investigation.
