Police constable held for alleged rape case in Rajasthan

The victim alleged that the Police did not investigate the complaint against police constable Mangaturam for two months. The victim added that the police delayed taking action against the official and later transferred him to Bhiwadi.

Alwar: A police constable posted at Barodameo in Rajasthan was arrested on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting and hoaxing a woman.

The victim alleged that the Police did not investigate the complaint against police constable Mangaturam for two months. The victim added that the police delayed taking action against the official and later transferred him to Bhiwadi.

In her complaint, she said that Mangaturam came in touch with her at a coaching institute in Alwar. He started a conversation with the victim over cell phone on the pretext of helping her. Later, he allegedly established a physical relationship by pretending to get married. Later, the accused refused to marry the victim, the victim said in her plaint.

The victim had filed the complaint against the police constable on 21 January 2021 under the SC-ST Act.
