Kota: After four-year-old tigress was found dead in Rajasthan's Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve (MHTR) on Monday, one of her cubs is missing now.
According to forest officials, the wild cat was said to be in sound health. The other four-year-old male tiger was named MT-3 and was found dead on July 23.
Speaking to ETV Bharat Chief Conservator of Forests, JB Reddy said, "After the death of the tigress, a cub was traced on Monday but still another cub has not been found yet. About 150 employees are engaged with 4 teams of the department. Also, the injured cub has been sent to Kota for treatment."
"Only after analyzing the post mortem report, we will able to say something. Our staff is monitoring, as well as satellite data will also come to us. Action will be taken after analyzing the whole data," Reddy said.
"After the death of two tigers, the sole male tiger stays in the enclosure and tigress is currently outside the reserve area are the only ones left in MHTR apart from the two cubs," he said.
He added that the male one has been captured by MHTR while the female cub is still missing and efforts are underway to trace it.
