Barmer (Rajasthan): A farmer died of a cardiac arrest as his crops were destroyed by a swarm of Locusts in Gudamalani, Rajasthan.
Nimbaram, a resident of Bhimgarh Peepali, was so shocked to see his ravaged crops that he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was taken to hospital however he could not be saved.
The body of the deceased farmer was handed over to his family after the post-mortem.
The Locusts swarm has been causing extensive damages to the crops in the area with most of the farmers losing their standing crops.
According to the brother of the deceased, the farmer had taken a KCC loan of 3 lakh 70 thousand and has sown the seeds on the farm which was destroyed by the locusts.
A video has also gone viral in which Nimbaram is seen chasing away the insects by beating two plates.

The year's income of the farmers was reduced to ashes by the locusts in a few minutes.
The farmers of Peepali along with farmers of various other areas have also suffered huge losses.
The crops of Cumin, Isabgol, Wheat, Mustard, have been damaged.
On the orders of Gudamalani Subdivision Officer Sunil Kateva, the Tehsildar of the area visited the spot and ordered the pest control team to spray the fields.
The farmers of the area depend mostly upon the income generated through the Cumin crops. As the crops were destroyed by the Locusts, farmers feel helpless.
The farmers feel that this all could have been avoided if the government had warned them on time. The farmers also demanded compensation for their losses from the government and to the family of the farmer who died of cardiac arrest.
