Nagaur (Rajasthan): Five migrant workers from Rajasthan's Nagaur, are stranded in Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur for the past few months after allegedly being duped by a Punjab-based travel agent.
The stranded men are Shyam Singh, Satveer Singh, Jivraj Singh and Shravan Singh of Nagaur district.
With no other option, the workers have taken the help of social media to appeal to the PM Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to come to their aid.
These people, mostly from Churu and Nagaur region of Rajasthan had travelled to Malaysia in pursuit of better pay and work opportunity, however, they did not get work and are now stranded without their passport and travel documents.
"A travel agent in Rajasthan duped us. We had given him Rs 1.5 lakh each. He sent us by a tourist visa but we did not get any work here. We have no money for food or transport. We managed to get some food from a nearby eatery. We even requested the Indian embassy but they did not listen to us," said a worker.
"We are suffering. There is no one to listen to us. We have been duped and kept shut here. We request the External Affairs Minister to help us," he said.
