Jaipur (Rajasthan): In a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus, a Jaipur based taxi driver has modified his vehicle using plastic shield partitions which will help in minimising the human contact.
Cab driver Rakesh Bhati said that the shield is made up of Silicon rubber which will enhance the durability. The cab driver also claimed that the rubber guard will act as an 'airbag' during the accident.
While talking to ETV Bharat, he said, "I have modified my SUV as a precautionary measure to avoid direct contact between passengers and driver. I have used leather seat cover which will protect the seat during sanitisation."
He further said that he will ensure that the cab is sanitised before and after the passengers' board inside the cab.
"In order to save money, passengers generally prefer to use 'sharing'. But, comprehending the current pandemic, I have decided to avoid the direct contact of anonymous person", said Bhati.
However, following the centre's guidelines, sharing of passengers is allowed, if the co-passenger belongs to the same family.
Moreover, the cab driver also said that the entry of children below 10 years and senior citizen is strictly prohibited.
