Raisen: Congress MLA Devendra Patel from Udaipur received a letter with a demand for Rs 1 crore and a threat to his son's life if the money was not delivered.
Upon examining CCTV visuals, police have spotted a suspect and an investigation is on to track him down. Police have also declared a reward of Rs 5,000 for information about him.
In addition, former Congress MLA Bhagwan Singh also received threats. Following the incident, MLA Patel remarked how people can be safe when MLAs and former MLAs receive such threats. He also said that there is an atmosphere of panic and the matter should be taken seriously.

The letter said bury a bag full of currency notes in the ground near Vatsalya School and hoist a red flag over it, on February 9, according to sources.
Sub Divisional Police Officer, SDOP, Ashok Ghanghoria said that an unknown person had left the letter in MLA's residence in a closed envelope on January 29. The MLA arrived at his residence on February 14 and informed the police about the letter. A case has been registered under Section 385 of IPC against the unknown person on the complaint of MLA's staff Vikas Dubey.
