Complaint filed against cast, crew of 'Bachchan Pandey'

The Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Bachchan Pandey' seems to be in legal trouble after a resident of Jaisalmer filed a complaint against makers and cast of the film in a local Chief Judicial Magistrate court for violating COVID-19 norms.

Jaisalmer: An individual has filed a complaint against makers and cast of the upcoming Bollywood film 'Bachchan Pandey' at a local Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court for violating COVID-19 norms.

The complaint has been filed against actors Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi and producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Vikrant Tandon.

As per the report, Aditya Sharma, a resident of Bhaskar Mohalla in Jaisalmer, filed the complaint to the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

In the complaint, he claimed that a crowd of 200 is seen on the film's, flouting guidelines which permit only 100 people.

Taking cognizance of the complaint, the court had issued summoned Vikrant Tandon to present the documents of approval for the shooting.

In response to this, Deepak Chauhan, the advocate of the filmmaker, said that the complainant has not recorded his statement in the court nor any evidence has been presented regarding the facts mentioned in the complaint.

"This complaint has been filed only to mislead the court and harass the applicants. If a complaint is filed, it is necessary to comply with Section 200 or 202 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and the court can summon the accused only after taking cognizance," he added.

Bachchan Pandey is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Farhad Samji. The film will theatrically release on January 26, 2022.
