Buddhist monks reach Rajasthan to promote world peace

In order to promote world peace, a group of 12 Buddhist monks from Thailand reached Rajasthan's Barmer. The group set out on a 'padayatra' reached here from Thailand via Myanmar. This group is also slated to enter Pakistan via Munabao.

Barmer: A group of 12 Buddhist monks reached Rajasthan's Barmer district on Sunday.

The group set out on a 'padayatra' to promote world peace reached here from Thailand via Myanmar.

This group claimed that it will enter Pakistan via Munabao. However, neither the district administration nor other agencies have received any order from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding this. If this happens, the Indo-Pak border at Munabao will be opened for the third time.

According to sources, after the journey of nine thousand kilometers from Thailand to the United States of America, now this group of monks reached Barmer.

Pa Sutham Nati Dhom Maang, the head of the group, said that the world is in great need of peace and harmony today.

"We have to think about more global peace. The peace can be spread by keeping our mind calm. Everyone can travel the world by vehiclesit, but covering the distance on foot provides different kind of satisfaction and it relaxes the mind in itself," he said.

It is to be noted that this group consists of 11 Thai monks and one Canadian monk.
