New Delhi: On the occasion of Eid, the Border Security Force (BSF) from India has gifted sweets congratulating the Pakistani Rangers at the international border. This is the first time after the Pulwama attack, India extended a hand of friendship to Pakistan.
Usually before the 14 February 2019, the day of the Pulwama attack, both countries used to exchange sweets and greetings at the international border on the occasion of festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Eid. However, following the Pulwama attack, the relations between the two countries deteriorated and the practice of sharing sweets and greetings during the festivals ended.

This time on the occasion of Eid, BSF took the initiative and called the Pakistani Rangers to come to the Zero line and several border posts including Munabao and Kelnor, located in the Barmer district of Rajasthan. The BSF handed over the sweets and exchange Eid greetings. Pakistani Rangers also conveyed their thanks to BSF for taking this initiative.

The relations between the two nuclear-armed South Asian nations have deteriorated considerably. There is also a ceasefire agreement in place between the two countries in the volatile Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first time after the Pulwama terrorist attack, BSF shared sweets and Eid greetings with the Pakistani rangers at the international border.
