Jaipur: Following the revocation of the charges under the National Security Act against Dr Kafeel Khan, who stepped out of the Mathura jail on Wednesday, landed in Jaipur on Thursday.
Speaking to ETV Bharat here, Dr Khan said that Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi assured him of safe stay in Rajasthan.
"We were assured of a safe stay in Jaipur by Priyankaji, who spoke to my mother and wife and said that the UP government may slap other charges against me. We feel safe here in Rajasthan,” Dr Khan told to ETV Bharat.
"Even today, I openly oppose what is wrong and I sincerely thank all those who have supported me during this time. I had raised my voice against corruption, after which the circumstances of my life started to deteriorate. I was sent to jail again and again," he said.
"Since Bharatpur is adjacent to Mathura, I decided to come here. Priyanka Gandhi Ji helped me a lot. Since there is a Congress government in Rajasthan, I feel I will be safe here. My family also feel it will be safer for us to stay here because in past seven-and-half months I have suffered a lot of mental harassment and physical torture," he added.
"The Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh tried to implicate me in a false case because I had exposed the system. I will send off a letter to my CM (Yogi Adityanath) and request him to reinstate me in my job and I would like to be useful in helping my state tonight Corona crises," Dr Khan further added.
