Jaipur: The Akshay Patra organisation is cooking food at a mammoth scale and distributing it in the city of Jaipur so that no individual sleeps hungry amid nationwide lockdown. The organisation cooks food according to the data provided by the state government on daily basis.
Generally, the organisation provides mid-day meals for around 1,50000 schools children. Presently, they are serving food to around 80-85 lakh needy people in Indore during day and night in co-ordination with the state government.
It is noteable that around 2 lakhs chapatis are being prepared per day and around 25000 chapatis are made within an hour.
12 solitaire of pulses are being cooked in 11 boilers. The whole cooking process is based on machines and it takes around two to three hours to prepare the whole food.
The workers at the Akshay Patra kitchen starts preparing lunch around 6 am in the morning and till 9:30 am it is loaded in the trucks for distribution. In the same manner, preparation for dinner begins at 2 pm and is ready for distribution till 5 pm in the evening.
