What is the case
In the year 2017, the then Mayor Ashok Lahoti had started the scheme of the door to door garbage collection through BVG company in the capital. There are about 527 door to door garbage collection vehicles operating in the capital. Out of these, the vehicles of BVG are only 106, while 421 vehicles belong to those vendors which have been sublet by BVG, which is against the rules.
In the work assigned to the BVG company by the municipal administration, the conditions were not followed. Despite this, the BVG company handed over the bills of more than 300 crores to the corporation for the unfinished work.

The conditions like 100% door to door garbage collection, segregation of waste, tracking system in hoppers, mechanized system to transport waste through waste transfer station to dumping yard and removal of open waste depots in the city, were not followed by the BVG company. Despite this, the BVG company handed over the bills of more than 300 crores to the corporation for the unfinished work.
BVG company is working in more than 70 cities of the country and whose annual turnover is more than 2000 crores. The company claims that the Jaipur Municipal Corporation owes 302 crores, but there was no third-party monitoring of the company's work for 2 years.
In such a situation, questions are arising that when the bills have not been verified, then how are they being paid. It is being reported that out of this bill, the alleged deal was done for the payment of dues of Rs 276 crore. The audio and video clip also went viral on social media.
