Kota: The Rajasthan government on Friday appointed a four-member committee to investigate the death of nine newborn babies at Kota's JK Lone hospital in the last two days.
The four-member committee includes Medical Education Commissioner Shivangi Swarnakar, Director RCH Dr Laxman Singh Ola, Additional Principal and Senior teacher in Department of Pediatrics Dr Amarjeet Mehta and Additional Principal and Senior Professor Infant Medicine, SMS Medical College, Dr Rambabu Sharma that reached Kota late night on Friday.
Upon reaching, the committee held a meeting with officers of the circuit house and also inspected the hospital premises. They also refused to talk to media personnel.
The experts may talk to the parents of the dead newborns and will submit a report based on their findings.

Around 14 infants have died so far in the infamous hospital in the last three days with 9 babies dying on December 10 and five more death in the last two days.
The hospital record shows a total of 33 babies dying in December and 922 death in total this year.
Last year, 107 children died within 35 days in the same hospital in November-December.
