Patiala: Two women, Chanchal and Sonia, were arrested by Punjab police for allegedly dragging a dog after tethering it to their scooter, reports said. The incident happened on June 20 and CCTV visuals of the same went viral on social media.

The duo was identified as residents of the Adarsh Nagar area near Ablowal village in Patiala. They were released on bail. The case was registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The dog died of injuries on June 24, reports said.
