Bathinda: Punjab Police's Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gurvinder Singh, who was dismissed from service for allegedly raping a woman, has attempted suicide on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Nathana police station in Bhatinda district after he was put behind bars.

SHO Narinder Kumar said that the accused has made multiple cuts on his body with a blade and was rushed to the hospital for medical help.
Bathinda SSP Bhupinderjit Singh Virk has filed a case against Gurvinder Singh for harassing a woman.

The woman alleged that the ASI exploited her sexually after implicating her 20-year-old in a narcotics case under the NDPC Act.
In a video, the ASI was caught red-handed by the villagers while allegedly raping the woman in Bucho town in the district.
