Chandigarh (Punjab): A 22-year-old man succumbed to injuries after the fuel tank of his motorcycle exploded in Punjab's Fazilka district, police said on Thursday.
On Wednesday after the incident, the people in the region were reportedly worried since there was no clarity on whether it was a bomb blast or a bike explosion. Although police confirmed the blast but said that the cause will be known only after a forensic report.
"A bike exploded on Wednesday night, but the cause is yet to be known. The forensic team is investigating the spot. The cause of the blast will be clear after a forensic report " Ferozepur IG Jatinder Singh said.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening when Balwinder Singh(22), a resident of Ferozepur, was going towards bank road from Old Sabzi Mandi in Jalalabad to meet a relative. When he reached near a bank, the fuel tank of the motorcycle exploded, wounding Balwinder badly, police said.
He was referred to Faridkot Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
DSP Palwinder Singh Sandhu on Thursday told that an NIA team has collected samples for analysis. The area has been cordoned off and a team of senior police officers are present at the site, he said.
