Navjot Singh Sidhu writes to Punjab CM on farmers' issues

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on farmers' issues. Sidhu recently met with the representatives of the 32 farmers' union on 10 September in Chandigarh. Today, Sidhu's letter cited issues raised by the farmers during the meeting on 10 September called by the Punjab Congress.

Chandigarh: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on farmers' issues. Sidhu recently met with the representatives of the 32 farmers' union on 10 September in Chandigarh. Today, Sidhu's letter cited issues raised by the farmers during the meeting on 10 September called by the Punjab Congress.

In his letter, Sidhu wrote that the farmers have demanded unjust and unfair FIRs registered against the Farmers Union during the agitation in the state. Congress party has supported the farmers' movement against the three black laws and for the legalisation of the MSP. Sidhu has also raised the issue of land records, known as 'Fard', to demarcate the details of land records by the central government is unjust. There is also an attempt to shift the existing APMC Mandis to Private Markets and create a two-market scenario in the country.

Sidhu wrote that the state must make all efforts to double the income of farmers, procurement of MSPs in the state, and not implement the three black laws in the state.
