Former President Giani Zail Singh's grandson joins BJP, slams Congress

Inderjit Singh, the grandson of former President Giani Zail Singh, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. After joining the saffron party, Inderjit accused Congress of ill-treating his grandfather and raised doubts over his death.

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly poll in Punjab, Inderjit Singh, the grandson of former President Giani Zail Singh has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

While joining the saffron party, Indrajit Singh stated that his grandfather was very loyal to the Congress party but the party didn't pay him back and disrespected him on many occasions.

He also raised doubts over the death of his grandfather, saying, "Zail Singh died in a road accident but I am not sure whether it was an accident or a murder,"

Earlier, the BJP has dented Congress camp in Uttarakhand. Recently, Rajkumar, MLA Congress from Purola, had joined the saffron party. Before that Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leader and Dhanaulti MLA Pritam Panwar had also joined the saffron party.

After severing ties with Akali Dal, BJP is planning to contest the 2022 Assembly polls independently in Punjab. Following this, it is expected that many more important faces will join the party in the coming days.
