Nayagarh: In a hair-raising video, a man was seen relying on a mango tree surrounded by floodwater in the flood-hit Odisha. He was seen yearning for a helping hand and coming down the tree in frenzy as fire and rescue team's boat approached near him.
The rescue team threw a rope at him as he managed to sit at the tender end of the tree. Wading through the tree branches, he got hold of the rope after taking a short plunge in the water. The rescue team pushed him inside the boat.
Towards the end of the video, one can see water gushing down heavily in the broad and deep river, sending shivers down the spine even at the thought of getting trapped in the middle.
The man was identified as Kishore Chandra Pradhan, a 36-year-old resident of Nuasahaspur village of Khandapara block in Nayagarh district. As water gushed through Kusumi river during flood, Pradhan who went for fishing got trapped. The rescue team rushed to the spot after getting information from his friends and Pradhan reached ashore safely.
