Bhubaneswar: Trupti Hotel is no ordinary hotel, and what makes it special is that it is entirely run by a group of differently-abled people in Odisha's Bhubaneswar.
The hotel aims to provide a platform for showcasing the talents of the differently disabled, who are involved in all aspects of hotel management, ranging from waiting tables to cooking dishes.
This is part of an initiative taken by Open Learning Systems (OLS) to provide career objectives to the differently-abled thereby building their confidence.
These specially-abled employees not only serve food to the guests, but they also do the regular hotel chores cooking, cleaning, arranging utensils, and so on.
Open Learning Systems, Executive officer Prakash Rath told ETV Bharat, "This restaurant is a game-changer in more than one way! Nestled in Bhubaneswar where hundreds of renowned restaurants are coming up with different concepts like robots serving customers, this restaurant boasts of a friendly waitstaff that offers service with a smile."
He said that the physically impaired boys and girls were more than enthusiastic to be a part of this initiative. They saw an opportunity to prove that they were just as capable as others.
This restaurant aims to change people's mindset and wants to send a message to the public stating that the differently-abled individuals should be known for their abilities and not their disabilities.
