Tata Coffee to buy Koraput coffee from Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that Tata Coffee has agreed to procure coffee from Odisha. The coffee procured from growers in Koraput district by the Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd (TDCCOL) will be sold by Tata Coffee across the country and abroad.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha): In what could bring more financial stability to coffee growers in Odisha, Tata Coffee has agreed to procure coffee from the State, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed. Announcing the development, Patnaik said coffee procured from growers in Koraput district by the Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd (TDCCOL) will be sold by Tata Coffee across the country and abroad.

Patnaik further informed Tata Coffee has agreed to keep the uniqueness of Koraput Coffee intact while selling it in the market. He hoped the cooperation of Tata Coffee will help the socio-economic development of coffee growers in the State. This will also ensure livelihood security to tribal people, the Chief Minister added.

The coffee crop cultivated in Koraput, a tribal belt in Odisha, is gaining lot of name of late. The coffee which is 100 per cent blend of Arabica coffee variety is promoted by the Odisha government in the state-owned offline retail store, 'Adisha'.
