Bhubaneswar: The passengers of a Delhi-bound Vistara flight- UK 785 from Bhubaneswar were stranded for several hours after the flight made an emergency landing at Bhubaneswar's Biju Patnaik International Airport on Saturday.

According to Airport officials, the pilot of the aircraft realised leakage in the fuel tank when the aircraft was on its way to Delhi. As such, he opted to make an emergency landing.

Following the fuel leak. The Vistara flight UK 785 took-off from BPIA at 11:40 am with 96 passengers. Within 25 minutes, it developed a technical snag and was forced to return to the base.

"Soon after take-off, the pilot detected an issue with the engine and alerted the Airport Technical Team. It returned to the base by 12.15 pm," said an official.

"The aircraft was sent into repair immediately after it returned to BPIA. The engineers may take several hours to repair it," official added.
