Malkangiri: To put a check on the rising number of dropouts, authorities of Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ primary school in Odisha's Malkangiri district came up with an idea to generate interest among students in studies.
To grab the attention of the students, the school authorities painted a picture of the Air India plane on the school wall which from a distance gives an illusion of an actual plane.
It has become the talk of the town and people from different walks of life have appreciated the idea.
“While entering the classroom, it seems like I'm boarding a plane,” said a jubilant student.
“This wall painting also helps us teach them about different parts of the plane and create curiosity about Science,” responded a teacher.
The Headmistress of the school has embarked upon this noble venture to give a practical shape to Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
With such initiatives, it seems the tribal inhabited and Naxalite infested district of Malkangiri is now marching ahead.
