Bhubaneswar: Once known for his acting skills, the Odia artist Kartik Sahu is now forced to sell vegetables in Palasuni daily market of the capital city of Odisha to meet the needs of his family. After trying his hands at some Bollywood films with prominent industry stars, web series and TV serials, he has started playing the role of a vegetable vendor to sustain a living amid the coronavirus induced nationwide lockdown.
As the film industry has been hard hit due to the pandemic, Sahu opted to return back to his native place at Garadpur in Kendrapara district.
After struggling for 17 years, Sahu made his dream of becoming an actor come true.

During his career as an actor, he worked in eight Bollywood movies including Sooryavanshi and Prithviraj along with Akshay Kumar and Shamshera with Sanjay Dutt. Apart from this, he also got the privilege of working with renowned celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham.
Sahu also worked in popular TV show Shree Ganesh and even worked as a side artist in few web series as well as daily soaps and operas. But after the coronavirus hit the nation, all the work related to the shooting came to an abrupt halt which eventually left Sahu jobless.
Hailing from a farmer family, he aspired to join defence forces to serve the nation but following the weak financial background of his family, he left for Mumbai in search of a job. During the early days, he worked for an electrical appliances company and later worked as the bodyguard of many personalities. Eventually, he got a chance to act in the films due to his good physique.
Owing to financial crisis he involved himself in odd jobs without hesitation or feeling ashamed and on getting a chance he is ready to work in regional films as well.
