Cuttack (Odisha): Five days after Sheikh Hyder escaped from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, the Odisha Police on Thursday claimed to have nabbed the notorious gangster in Telangana.
Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi informed the media that acting on information, a special police team from Cuttack nabbed the gangster from Sangareddy district with the help of their Telangana counterparts.
Hyder was intercepted by the police in Sangareddy district when was travelling on a motorcycle at night.
Police said their investigation has clarified that Hyder's escape from the hospital was a well-planned conspiracy. He will be brought back to Odisha within 24 hours and a thorough probe will be conducted, the police said.
The DGP took to Twitter to congratulate the team for swift action.
