Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Several parts of Odisha on Sunday received heavy rainfall due to the low-pressure area over Northwest and adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal. Moderate rain and thundershowers, with one or two very intense spells of rain, affected normal life in different parts of the State including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
Heavy rains caused the water-logging problem in many parts of the state. According to IMD, the low-pressure system is very likely to move west-northwestwards and turn into a Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of north Odisha-West Bengal coasts during the next 12 hours. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha during the subsequent 2-3 days.
