Expect cooperation from Centre for Odisha's development: Patnaik

Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik and Union Petroleum and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan discussed ways to work together to usher in economic & industrial development and generate employment opportunities to bring all round prosperity for the people of Odisha.

New Delhi: Union Minister of Steel Dharmendra Pradhan met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Delhi on Friday to discuss employment generation in Odisha by setting up steel and petroleum industries in the state. CM Patnaik also sought cooperation from the central government for the state's development.

Patnaik said, "in a cordial meet with Dharmendra Pradhan, we discussed the overall development of the state and how to generate further employment for the welfare of people with mutual programmes of Centre and the state. I also hope to get cooperation from the centre for the development of Odisha"

In a courtesy meet with CM, Union Minister also offered an amount of Rs. 3 crore for restoration and rehabilitation work after cyclone Fani wreaked havoc in the state.

While addressing the media, the Union Minister said, "Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has assured all co-operation in this regard. I am sure that the Centre and state will work in collaboration for the holistic development of Odisha,”
