He was suffering from renal complaints and diabetes and was undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela. Mishra started his career in journalism with Hindi dailies and emerged to be one of the prominent journalists in electronic media. Mishra covered Rourkela for ETV Bharat.
