Mumbai: Maharashtra State election commission cancelled local body elections due to the covid situation in the state. Meanwhile, BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that this is not the state government's success. The election commission cancelled the elections due to the covid situation, he added.
Vadettiwar welcomed the decision
Vijay Vadettiwar welcomed the decision of cancelling the local body elections in the state. "We are happy with the decision and this is the victory of OBCs. The state government continuously took follow-up on the matter with the election commission. CM also tried for it. The election getting cancelled is more important than who tried for it," he said while talking to reporters in Nagpur.
This is not the success of the State government: Bawankule
BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the cancellation of elections is not the success of the state government. The election commission itself cancelled the elections. This is an opportunity for the state government to collect the empirical data and present it to court. If they do so, then that would be called the success of the state government, he added.
