Pune (Maharashtra): A sweet-shop in Maharashtra's Nashik is selling gold-covered sweets on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. A kilogram of this sweet costs ₹9000.
Gold desserts are available in various forms like sweets and biscuits.
The 25-year-old shop - Sagar sweets wanted to make the festival of Raksha Bandhan grand this year and opted to cover dry fruits with gold.
"This is the first time we used actual gold for covering sweets in order to make Raksha Bandhan celebrations even more grand," said Ratan Choudhary, owner of the sweet shop.
"People have already shown interest in the sweet and are buying it in small portions and placing orders for Raksha Bandhan. Maharashtra celebrates the festival in a grand manner and what is better than gold to make any occasion grander," he added.
