Nasik: An incident of burning tenant woman to death by her house owner has come to the fore. The tragic incident happened in Bharatnagar area on Tuesday. A case of murder has been registered against 4 suspects including the house owner, after the deceased woman’s statement recorded in front of the magistrate before her death.
When the house owner and his relatives went to collect the rent, a skirmish started between tenant woman and owner and eventually the tragic incident happened.
According to the deceased woman, Ayesha Shaikh’s (18) statement given to the magistrate, she used to live with her husband Asim and son in a rental house in Bharatnagar area.
As house rent was not paid for some months, the owner was continuously harassing them. On Tuesday, at 4:30 P.M. house owner went to collect rent and then a skirmish started. Ayesha in her statement to magistrate Hemant Potinde has said that the suspected accused Babu, Ahraf and Rani poured Kerosene on her and set afire.
Ayesha was seriously burnt in this incident. Her husband brought her to the district hospital but she succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday. A case of murder has been registered against four suspected namely Babu, Ahraf Babulal Shaikh, Rani and Aman.
The matter is under investigation.
