Mumbai: A Mumbai based couple has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the CBI to conclude the investigation of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case in two months and to submit a report on the basis of the investigation.

"The Central Bureau of Investigation is not acting responsibly in the present case and there is a delay in the conclusion of the investigation of the case," according to the plea.

The plea also stated that even in serious offences like murder, the law stipulates filing of charge sheets in ninety days but in the present case, the Central investigation agency has failed miserably in their role and the unnecessary delay in the present case puts the judicial system in a bad light, not only in the Courts but also across the globe.

The couple said that delay in investigation is leading to the circulation of conspiracy theories in the social media and the people who loved Rajput are led to anxiety and misery.

Earlier, in August, the Supreme Court had given a nod for the CBI to investigate the case. Even though the CBI probe is underway no development have been reported for a while.
