Nagpur: Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut slammed the Modi government on Saturday saying that while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is being served CBI notice, they (the BJP government) were not able to bring fugitive Vijay Mallya back to India. The AAP supremo has been summoned by the central investigation agency and has asked him to appear before them on Sunday.
The Modi government talks big about bringing back black money and checking corruption but they have failed in bringing Mallya back, Raut said. The government makes big promises on wiping out corruption but nothing gets done in realitiy, he charged.
Commenting on the recent probes by the central agencies against opposition leaders, Raut said they are trying to break parties and opposition-ruled state governments by harassing their leaders with corruption charges. A case in point is the the saffron party's all out attempt to break the NCP by using ED and CBI. "Is this a government? They (BJP) are running a gang," Raut said.
Earlier, Mallya was sentenced to four months in jail for contempt of court by the Supreme Court. The top court also directed the Centre to secure his presence. Mallya has been in the UK since 2016.

In another example, the Lalu family along with Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav is being probed in the land-for-job case. In West Bengal, TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee is also being probed in the 'coal scam' case. Banerjee also happens to be Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew.
