Saamana said Sharad Pawar had no choice other than revoking his decision to quit as NCP president as he had guessed his party's condition in his absence.

Mumbai: Saamana, the party mouthpiece of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sene (UBT) on Monday criticised NCP president Sharad Pawar, saying he failed to prepare a successor who could take ahead the party after him. Also, it alleged that BJP's plan to spit NCP was spoiled with Pawar revoking his decision to quit as NCP chief.

The paper in its editorial said that Pawar had quit the Congress and formed the Nationalist Congress Party. "Pawar is a great leader and his word has respect in the national politics. However, he failed to create his successor who can lead take ahead the the party after him. This is why workers became worried about the party's fate when he announced to resign from the post of president. The party workers had thus started protesting on the streets," it said.

The editorial said after Pawar announced about his decision to resign it had rose a furore in his party. The news had created more sensation in the NCP than in the national politics as Sharad Pawar and NCP are synonymous, it said.

Further, it alleged that the BJP had planned to split the NCP as it had earlier done to the Shiv Sena. "People were ready to switch over but Pawar revoke his decision and spoiled BJP's plan. The BJP is terming Pawar's move as a gimmick. But, the party should look first look at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the biggest fraud," it added.

It alleged that BJP does not have the ability to hold elections through democratic means. The BJP uses ED and CBI against the Opposition to keep them under pressure, it said adding, "A people thinking of joining the BJP should think whether to live as a goat for 100 days or be a tiger for one day."

Saamana said people who were preparing to leave the party stayed back after Pawar withdrew his resignation. "Pawar had no choice but to revoke his decision because he had guessed where the party would be in his absence. The condition that had happed to the Shiv Sena following the split would have happened to the leaders who leave the NCP. Those who are joining the BJP are due to the fear of CBI and ED," it added.
