Life sentences of Dawood Ibrahim's aides upheld by Bombay HC

Dismissing the plea of Dawood Ibrahim's accomplices Praveen Mishra and Abhishek Singh, the Bombay High Court has upheld their life sentences. Mumbai police arrested the two accused in connection with the murder of builder Pradip Dhokalia's bodyguard in 2011.

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday upheld the life sentences of gangster Dawood Ibrahim's accomplices Praveen Mishra and Abhishek Singh. The two were arrested in 2011 in connection with the murder of builder Pradip Dhokaliya's bodyguard and were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bombay Sessions Court.

Mumbai police have arrested the two accused in connection with the murder of Dhokalia's bodyguard Ajit Yerunkar in 2011.

Both the accused are close aids of Dawood Ibrahim. The sessions court had sentenced the two to life imprisonment. Both of them had appealed to the High Court against their sentencing. A hearing was held before a bench of Justice Sadhana Jadhav and Justice NR Borkar. After examining all the documents and evidence related to the case, it was observed that the decision of the sessions court was correct.

"The petition filed by the accused is dismissed," said the Bombay High Court.
