Mumbai: Residents of Mumbai dread monsoon season as rain ravaged the city last year. In order to avoid a similar situation this year, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has a drainage system free of clog.

The BMC has claimed that 80 to 90 percent drainage in the city has been cleaned before the onset of monsoon. Officials have also claimed Mithi river, which gets clogged every year after the first rain, has been cleaned up to 60 percent.
