Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not left a single opportunity to attack Shiv Sena since it has formed government allying with Congress and NCP.

Shiv Sena South Mumbai Division head, Pandurang Sapkal organized Azaan recitation competition for schoolboys, inviting severe criticism from the BJP.

When asked about it, Sapkal outrightly denied organizing such a competition.

He explained that he has nothing to do with that competition and he just suggested a Muslim delegation about organizing such competition.

His video about suggesting Azaan reciting competition has been a matter of heated discussion on social media.

Sapkal described Azaan as very amazing and pleasing and said that, whoever hears it once, eagerly awaits to hear next round of it.

He said, "We are going to organize Azaan reciting competition for schoolboys. The participants will be judged on the basis of their pronunciation, voice modulation and their recitation. Shiv Sena will bear the cost of the rewards and Moulanas will judge the competition."

When asked that, some people complain about Azaan, to this he said that all the religious scriptures teach us humanity and peace.

"The time of Azaan is very less and so it should not be a nuisance," he said.

However, the BJP leader Atul Bhalkhalkar slammed Shiv Sena for this.

He said, "Balasaheb Thackeray had never done the politics of appeasement for minorities. But, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has left behind Hindutwa and now is playing such a politics of appeasement that Owaisi would also be ashamed."

He also took a jibe at Shiv Sena by saying that, after the Azaan competition, arrange a mass Namaj competition on road.
