Nagpur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's house, for the second time in a month. As per preliminary information, sleuths of central police and state police arrived at his house around 8:20 am brewing speculations of stringent action.
Sources said Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) women's battalion is deployed outside his house. Deshmukh is not currently in the house, as per sources. The veteran Nationalist Congress Party leader had resigned as Home Minister after former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh levelled corruption allegations against him in a letter written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, as per reports.

The case in brief
After Singh accused Deshmukh of pressuring the police officials to collect money worth Rs 100 crore, Singh lodged a petition in Supreme Court in this regard. Following this, the apex court instructed Singh to appeal to the Bombay High Court.
As per the Bombay High Court order, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had conducted a preliminary inquiry in the case. FIR against Deshmukh was also registered. Earlier also, searches were conducted at Deshmukh and his close aide's residences. The central agency also recorded statements of various persons, as per reports. Meanwhile, the ED registered a money laundering case against him and initiated a probe.
