Latur (Maharashtra): With people continuin to turn a blind eye towards the government's instructions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Latur Police on Thursday booked 120 morning walkers for defying lockdown orders.
The District Information Office of Latur informed that many people were seen walking in many areas of the city this morning, even after repeated instructions by the goverment to not venture out.
All the violators were then brought to the Shivaji Nagar Police station and booked under Sections 188, 269, and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to reports, 110 of the 120 violators are men, while the remaining 10 are women.
As of now, Latur district has not reported any coronavirus positive case.
