Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted transit bail to Shantanu Muluk, one of the accused in the toolkit case. The court also reserved its order on Nikita Jacob's bail plea.

Mumbai lawyer Nikita Jacob and Beed engineer Shantanu Muluk had moved the Bombay High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail.

While Jacob's plea was filed in Mumbai, Muluk submitted his application in the Aurangabad bench of the High Court.

Justice Vibha Kankanwadi of the Aurangabad bench of the HC granted Muluk, resident of Beed in central Maharashtra, ten days' transit anticipatory bail to enable him to apply for protection before the appropriate court in Delhi.

Jacob's plea for pre-arrest bail was heard by Justice PD Naik at the high court's principal bench in Mumbai which said it would pass the order on Wednesday.

The Delhi Police had issued non-bailable warrants against Jacob and Shantanu Muluk, who allegedly joined arrested climate activist Disha Ravi in creating a protest toolkit backing the farmers' agitation.

On January 11, 15 days ahead of the Republic Day violence in the national capital, the two attended a Zoom meeting organised by pro-Khalistani group Poetic Justice Foundation, the Delhi Police claimed.

Ravi, Jacob and Muluk created the toolkit and sent it to others, officials alleged as a fierce political debate broke out between the opposition and the ruling BJP over the action against 21-year-old Ravi in the case related to the "toolkit Google doc", which came to light when it was shared by global climate campaigner Greta Thunberg.
