Mumbai: NCP MLA Ajit Pawar, who had rebelled against his own party, will be made the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, news agency ANI reported quoting NCP sources.
According to ANI, though Ajit is to be made the Deputy CM, he is not likely to be administered the oath today.
Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray will be taking oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra later today at 6:40 pm at Mumbai's Shivaji Park.
According to the plan drawn out by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance), apart from the Chief Minister, Shiv Sena will have 15 ministers in the new government, NCP will have Deputy Chief Minister and 13 other ministers, while the Congress will have Assembly Speaker and 13 ministers.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who had joined hands with the BJP last week to form government in Maharashtra, had quit later citing 'personal reasons'.
Further details are awaited.
