“Papa, Please Come Back!” Son Writes Heart wrenching Essay After Father’s Death

Little Mangesh Valke wrote an emotional plea to his father, who passed away after suffering from an ailment. The boy who studies in the fourth grade, wrote an essay in a letter to his father which has led to tears welling up in anybody’s eyes who reads it. In the letter, Mangesh has honestly described the economic condition of his family that has been left in shambles, and that there remains no man in the house now to handle responsibilities. Ending the letter in an tearful “Papa, please come back!”, Mangesh’s letter has touched hearts and has become a topic of discussion on the social media.

Beed: A rather noteworthy incident that will grab all attention has happened in the city. A 10-year-old boy called Mangesh Valke wrote an essay at school, which has had the entire town as well as social media talking. The essay is a letter, in which Mangesh expresses his emotions thorough cries of pleas for his father to come back. His father passed away some time ago, which has led the young boy to write about how the family has no man left to head any responsibility. The letter has left every reader teary-eyed.

After the news channel ETV Bharat has highlighted this woe of the little boy, the letter has come to the notice of the Minister of Social Justice & Special Assistance Department Dhananjay Munde. He has taken the plight of the boy and his family and has promised to help him out. The options of how the boy and his family will be helped are still being thought upon.

The father of the boy suffered through extreme poverty as well as an ailment that was the cause of his death. In the heartfelt letter, Mangesh expressed how he misses his father, and that ‘he is afraid of thugs entering the house’, as his father is now absent. This sentence, where he says ‘he is afraid’, depicts how lonely he feels without his father. In the letter, he wrote, “my father died due to tuberculosis a few days ago. As he is not around, I had to save a cow drowning in the water all by myself. There is nobody left to help us. Mother and I are afraid of thugs and robbers entering the house. Papa, I think of you all the time,” he says, concluding his essay with heart wrenching words saying, “Papa, please come back.”

Mangesh studies in a local school in Aashti Taluka’s Valkevadi. In the essay he wrote, as a letter addressing his late father, the emotions that run through a child’s soft heart were seen pouring out on paper. In the essay he wrote called ‘My father’, the emotions that he has gone through have clearly come out in front of the readers. When Mangesh’s teacher Najma Mainuddin Shaikh read the letter, she too could not stop herself from being emotional. She felt the need for this letter to be read by the rest of the world, and therefore took to social media, and forwarded this letter to her contacts and several groups on WhatsApp that she was a part of. This led to the letter becoming viral on social media.

When ETV Bharat investigated this, they found the condition of the boy and his family to be in a rather poor position. Mangesh’s mother is differently abled, which has led to the 10 year old boy taking charge of the family and helping his mother out in every way he can before he heads to school. While the boy has to deal with the grief of losing his father, he has another grave situation in front of him in the form of an economic challenge for the family. With his mother being physically challenged, Mangesh has had to grow up way before his time, trying to find a way to support his family at a time when his peers enjoy their childhood playing games and interacting with friends.

His mother Sharda does minor jobs that can help keep the family afloat until Mangesh has finished his education. Mangesh wants to grow up and realise his father’s dream of becoming an officer someday.

Mangesh and his family need help

Mangesh lives in the Aashti Taluka along with his mother. He requires all the financial help he can gather to make ends meet at home. His mother is illiterate so may have to resort to minor jobs of labour if the family does not get help financially.

Help from Dhananjay Munde

Minister of Social Justice & Special Assistance Department Dhananjay Munde has taken cognizance of the situation in Mangesh’s family, and has offered Rs. 1.5 Lakhs from the ‘Divyang Beej Bhandval Yojana’, a scheme that will help the differently abled, as well as their families to stay afloat and make ends meet by creating a small business for themselves. He has also arranged for a bus pass, UD ID card and passed on benefits of government’s schemes for the physically challenged. While Mangesh’s story may be full of sadness, this seems like a ray of hope in the 10 year old’s and his family’s life.
