Bhopal: In a shocking case of alleged medical negligence, a woman delivered her child in the general ward of the community centre effectively in public in Bhopal's Kolar area as the nurse had allegedly dozed off while the doctor had left after his “duty”, her family said on Tuesday. The alleged incident has taken place at the Community Health Centre in Kolar, a dedicated maternity hospital.
The family of Shikha Rajput, 27, said she was having a mild pain and visited the hospital for check-up where she was was undergoing treatment during her pregnancy. Shikha alleged that the doctor at the hospital refused to attend to her saying that her shift was over and asked her to either go to a private hospital or seek the nurse's help for delivery.
“I was admitted to the general ward of the hospital," she said.
