Jabalpur: The 'cultural city' of Madhya Pradesh is transforming into a 'crime city'. Ajit Vishwakarma, an auto driver in Shobhapur area of the city, was brutally beaten up by two youths in the middle of the road. Later, the young men carried the grievously injured auto driver on their bike. A shocking video of this entire incident has come to light.
The violence unfolded after a minor accident wherein a woman's scooter collided with an auto in the city. The woman lost balance and fell down due to the collision. Later, the woman called up her family members and asked them to come to the spot of the accident, after which the two youths carried out the act of violence. During the collision with the Scooty, the auto had overturned on the road and the iron plates placed in it laid scattered on the road.
The family members of the woman not only beat the auto driver badly in the middle of the road but they also broke both the legs of the auto driver with an iron plate which they picked up from the road. People around them stood like mute spectators and nobody bothered to stop both the youths.
After seeing the news of the incident on ETV Bharat, Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha tweeted it, which led to the arrest of the two youths.
Seeing the shocking video of this entire incident on ETV Bharat, Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha tweeted and asked who these 'monsters of Jabalpur' were? and who gave them the right to beat the auto driver or anyone in such a brutal manner? Tankha also announced an aid of Rs 10000 for the auto-driver.

Both youths were arrested after the tweet. The accused named Manoj Dubey and Akshay Shivhare are now being questioned. But the injured auto driver Ajit Vishwakarma says that after being beaten by goons, he was left in the police station, where the police did not provide him help in time. Instead of providing assistance, the police kept the victim in the police station.
The scared auto driver is now undergoing treatment in a private hospital far away from the Adhartaal. The victim says that it was not his fault, he was carrying the goods in his vehicle, the woman was driving carelessly and the auto overturned as soon as he applied the brake.
The accused first beat up the victim like an animal and then put him in the vehicle and threw him in front of the police station. A case of wrongful auto-driving has also been filed against him.
Ajit Vishwakarma is a very poor auto driver; the people of the society came forward and got him admitted to a private hospital. Presently, Ajit Vishwakarma is being treated with the money provided by the MP and the contributions made by the people. This matter has also raised serious questions about the sensitivity of the police.
Looking at the matter, the state Home Minister said, "Madhya Pradesh is not ruled by the Taliban. The culprits will not be spared in any case. Police have arrested the culprits and are taking action against them".
