Kota: Over 4,000 students from Madhya Pradesh who are preparing for various competitive examinations in the coaching hub of Kota in Rajasthan have left for their homes in buses sent by the MP government.
According to sources, Madhya Pradesh government had sent 143 buses to Kota in Rajasthan on Tuesday to bring students from the state, who were in that city to prepare for engineering and medical competitive exams.
Speaking to the ETV Bharat, Allen coaching institute's director, Naveen Maheshwari said, "Till 2 pm, at least 60 buses had left for Madhya Pradesh. Over 4,000 students from the state were stuck in Kota. To maintain social distancing norms, less than 30 students were allowed to board a bus. Before the departure, buses were thoroughly sanitised and every student was properly screened."
"We were not able to study here. We were facing a lot of problems like food transportation etc. Apart from this, our parents were also getting upset at our homes. The way our government is transporting us back to our home districts and homes through buses, the government of Jharkhand and Bihar should also think about their state belonging students because they too are getting upset here like us," a student said.
Notably, These students, who had been staying in Kota - known as the country's coaching hub - for preparation of entrance exams, are mostly from Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and other parts of Rajasthan.
Nearly 450 students from Gujarat and around 100 from Diu are also scheduled to leave by Wednesday night. The Gujarat government had sent at least 15 buses, which arrived on Tuesday night. Three buses were sent by the Diu administration, sources added.
