School children in the flood hit MP village cross a river to reach the school as the village remains isolated without roads and bridges. The health situation remains bleak as lack of connectivity is hampering health services for the residents.

Betul: Even when educational sector is booming with multiple schools coming up in remote villages with increase in last-mile connectivity, students of this government school in Madhya Pradesh's Betul travel three kilometers, cross a treacherous to reach the school.

According to reports, several nine-year-old children risk their life to cross a river to reach their school, even during incessant rains.

The treacherous path gets even more dreadful as the water levels continue to rise during the monsoon season.

The children cross the river twice everyday and the administration seems to be in a fix regarding the situation.

According to the Education Department, they claim to have informed the principal and the students and even the villagers to forbid children from coming to school in view of such situation.

The health situation remains bleak as lack of connectivity is hampering health services for the residents.

Besides, the villagers claim that they had approached the district administration to build a road or a bridge as the village turns into an island with no connectivity towards the district mainland.
