Posters of French president pasted on roads in MP

Madhya Pradesh police removed the posters on Jobat city road, which came after French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments on Islam following the Nice knife attack. Several videos also surfaced on social media in which vehicles can be seen driving over the posters.

Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): The police on Sunday removed the posters of French President Emmanuel Macron which were found pasted on a busy road in Jobat city of Madhya Pradesh's Alirajpur.

According to sources, pedestrians and motorists in the Jobat area spotted hundreds of posters of Macron, who is facing criticism from Muslim countries over a cartoon row in France.

Several videos also surfaced on social media in which vehicles can be seen driving over the posters.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh police on Sunday removed all anti-French President Emmanuel Macron posters that were pasted on the roads of Jobat city.

The protestors pasted Macron's photos on roads and walked on them to protest against the French president terming the knife attack incident as 'Islamic terrorist attack'.

Speaking to reporters, Jobat city Traffic Inspector, Kailash Chouhan said, "Some unidentified persons pasted the posters of French President Emmanuel Macron on the city road. After getting information, we removed all posters from the road. We are investigating the matter."

Meanwhile, in Bhopal, people from the Muslim community also protested at Iqbal Maidan against Macron over the controversy about the depiction of Prophet Muhammad in cartoons published by the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
