Corona patient who was declared dead twice, finally dies

In a case of bewildering negligence by the staff of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, a patient who was declared dead twice by the hospital authorities had died on Saturday.

Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh): In a case of bewildering negligence by the staff of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, a patient who was declared dead twice by the hospital authorities earlier had finally died on Saturday.

Gorelal Kauri, a resident of Sultania who had tested positive for the Coronavirus, was declared dead twice. He was admitted to the hospital on April 11. On April 13, the hospital declared him dead. After preparing for the funeral, when the family arrived at the hospital to pick up the body, they found Gorelal alive.

Again, the next day on April 14, the relatives received a call from the doctor saying that Gorelal had died. However, when the deceased's son insisted to see the body of the father, it was found that it was someone else's body that was being handed over to them. Following an investigation by the hospital authorities, it was found out that Gorelal was alive, but as his condition was critical, he was shifted to the isolation ward.

On April 16, again his son was informed of Gorelal's death. Once again, his son reached the hospital in the hope that this time also this news may not be related to his father, but this time Gorelal did not really live in this world.

According to the Dean of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hospital, "Gorelal's heartbeat stopped on April 15, but later when the medical team gave him CPR, his heart rate had returned. After which, he was put on a ventilator but he died on April 16.
